Sandown Lodge is a charming, centrally located, country style guest house, offering self catering accommodation. Situated opposite Rondebosch Park, between Bishops Preparatory School & Rondebosch Boys School, and less than 3 kilometers from the University of Cape Town. It's the most convenient location for holidaymakers, school visitors, academics, sportspeople & business travelers.

Sandown Lodge has its own water source (on-site borehole) and electrical source ( solar & battery system), so guests do not need to worry about load-shedding.

Rondebosch is a quiet & safe family neighborhood with lots of big trees and parks to walk in. There are restaurants and shops within easy walking distance from Sandown Lodge. There is safe off-street parking for guests. Most units have kitchenettes for basic self-catering & we also have free Wifi and DSTV. The units are spacious, with comfortable beds, percale linen, and are serviced daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays.

It has been said that if Cape Town were a dartboard, Rondebosch would be the bull's-eye! That is how central it is, 15 minutes from everywhere!

We are located in the suburb of Rondebosch, 9 km from Cape Town City Centre. Rondebosch is a well known leafy suburb of Cape Town with lovely old trees and beautiful views of Table Mountain. The University of Cape Town, Newlands Cricket Stadium, Cavendish Square Shopping Centre, Rondebosch Main Road and Western Province Cricket Club are all within 3 km from us.

The House

Sandown Lodge is an 18th century Georgian house, built around 1865 & has been operating as a guesthouse for 12+ years. The owners live on the property & delight in engaging with the guests making for a personal and homely environment.

We are committed to providing friendly, warm hospitality to ensure every guest has a comfortable & enjoyable stay. Our loyal repeat guests and regular customers are a testament to our welcoming service and professionalism.

We can accommodate up to 12 guests at a time and have a lovely outside area for relaxing and entertaining in.
